Our Premium Podcast Production | The Ultimate Content

Our Premium Podcast Productions are so much fun. Like when we have the budget to go wild! Well we did with this Video Podcast for Sonos. We rented a fancy Airbnb in the Stockholm Islands for 2 nights. This gave us the freedom to film the Sonos products around the home and get to know the team better so they could perform well when recording started.

There are subtitle details that made this Podcast really pop. For example can you see the kicker light coming through the window in the background of the kitchen. This was from a light we installed to give a consistent depth to the main camera angle.

This video podcast format is a scalable way to create content within your organisation. In this case we had 2 retail store managers and 2 SONOS product managers jam together and nerd out over the products. As you can see the results were natural and fun. We should also say that we recorded this in less than 1 hour. Which means it did not take up too much time. So there store managers could get back to the store and the rest of the team could get back to work remotely. So this format is kind to peoples schedules! Unlike scripted material that often requires days of different takes and many hours of practise.

Here are the main tips & tricks from this BTS episode:

The video is being shot inside an Airbnb that has been rented for a few days for a podcast video shoot.

  • It is important to be organized and managing cables when working in a small space like this.

  • Four people will be participating in the podcast, and four channels will be pulled in from the four mics.

  • Three camera angles will be used to get different perspectives on the podcast.

  • We have focused a lot on lighting to make sure the subjects and products pop.

  • They will also film B-roll later in the house with different products.

  • The main focus of the podcast is to educate the audience.

  • The podcast will be cut down to 20 minutes.

  • The speakers mention the importance of not getting too close to the mics and keeping their bodies open to the main camera.

  • They also mention the benefits of having products around while talking on the podcast.

Here is what SONOS said about our production team:

“I got the chance to work with Daniel on a Video Podcast 3 weeks into a new job, so to put it lightly I was a little nervous going into the project when still learning the ropes of a new position.

When we arrived at the location of the shoot, everything was already set up in a very professional manner, lights, cameras, tables, and Microphones.
The crew also shared some insights into why certain things were set up in the way they were, so everyone involved would understand the intention behind it.

Daniel and the rest of the crew took everyone aside and made sure to walk us through the agenda of the shoot so there were no doubts revolving around the podcast and the game plan.

Overall a comfortable environment and a casual workflow, where the conversation would flow naturally and then follow up with any necessary picks ups, great pointers on how to conduct yourself during the recording to ensure the best product.

The post-production process would be shared frequently and an easy comment system on the video was shared, so any feedback could be made easily, the best alternative to actually sitting alongside the editor at the cutting-room floor.

I look very much forward to working with Daniel and his crew again on other projects”.

The Addtocart team were very easy to work with and flexible when changes happened. Delivered one of the best podcasts I´ve seen. Super structured and motivating during filming which helped out a lot, considering none of the participants had made a podcast before. 10/10!
